Chris Canelos, an optician, who has been working in the optical industry for 15 + years, noticed that many client's from Cape Cod were going into Boston to buy their eye-wear. He began his optical career in a lens factory grinding lenses. He moved on to be a lab manager/General Manager in the largest optical chain in the world. From there, he managed a high end optical store on Newbury St. When he asked the Cape resident's why they were travelling so far to get their glasses, it turned out that many felt that there wasn't an Optical Store down the Cape that had what they were looking for. Thus the idea for Sia Optical was born. We carry clean classic styles, bold, trendy, fashionable glasses and sunglasses. We wanted to bring high end as well as affordable glasses to the Cape. Having just opened the doors in 2010, we have the latest in eye-wear. Chris Canelos is a resident of Falmouth. He and his family are enjoying his much shorter commute. The name of the store is after his first daughters nickname (Sia), on May 29th 2010, at 7:59am, he and his family welcomed daughter #2 (Sofia) (who hopefully will not be too upset that the shop is named after the first).
